The Leaderboard Drama
Let's start with the big hitters and headline-makers from today:
Adam Hadwin (T2): At first glance, Adam did not play a great round by any means. He did the bare minimum, and it worked out, much like a one-night stand with your ex. Although it was not an impressive round by any means, a 72 even par round was enough to keep him right in contention. Adam finds himself 3 shots back from Scottie; however, I do see a larger fall-off for Adam in the near future.
Scottie Scheffler (1): Scottie is just unreal. One second, the man looks like he's in shambles; the next, he's sticking it 8 feet out of a fairway bunker with the worst lie I've seen all day. The guy can't miss when it comes to scoring; he posts low numbers day in and day out when others are struggling to shoot par. Impressive, but this tournament isn't locked up yet and the course is only going to get harder.
Christian Bezuidenhout (T4): Out of nowhere comes the South African, shooting a 67 with 20 putts. Insanely impressive given that it was 6.5 strokes better than the average score today. Bezuidenhout has a great name and a great chance at taking this thing home if he continues to putt as well as John Daly drinks.
Our Current Picks:
Viktor Hovland (-6): The Norwegian fry box. The highest man on the course fires a 69 and brings himself to a T-2 position heading into the weekend. Whatever he is doing is working, and watching him is like watching a midget run—you can't look away, but you're worried the whole time. Hovland is 7-1 to win this thing now, and it appears we got some great value.
Tom Kim (+1): Tom had a good front, posting a 34, and then the back nine came around, and all hell broke loose. It is sad to say, but all bets on Tom Kim are officially dead. He is facing some serious mental warfare with himself, and I don't see it ending well. Tom has let us down supremely, but he doesn't deserve the Cam Young treatment.
Ludvig Aberg (-4): Very normal round of golf. He hit some good shots and some bad ones. With 2 bogeys, 2 birdies, and 14 pars, Ludvig shot even par and seems to be fading out of the picture. His putter seems as effective as the Titanic submarine; it is going to get him killed.
Tomorrow's Picks
Now, the juicy part—our picks for tomorrow’s action:
Value Pick
For today's value pick, I'm eyeing down Akshay Bhatia. He shot a 69 yesterday and a 71 today. I know it's not impressive, but it currently has him at -4 (T6), and his game seems to be clicking for the most part. Akshay is 4.5-1 to place T5, and he's one stroke back from achieving that. I hate to say it, but Hadwin will fall off faster than Joe Biden on a bike or going up and down stairs. Keegan Bradley is a piece of shit from Boston, and I can't stand his swing. Yeah, sure, it works for now, but I feel that he will play worse than then way Lizzo looks (highly impressive thing to be worse then). Lock in Akshay at 4.5-1, not just because Hadwin and Bradley will choke like they always do, but because Akshay is in form, and he can go low over the weekend.
Join us tomorrow for more thrilling updates and insights from the Memorial Tournament. Prepare for an action-packed Saturday—keep your bets sharp, your beers cold, and your hopes high! And remember, even if your picks tank, at least you’re not Cam Young. Cheers!
