The Leaderboard Drama
Let's start with the big hitters and headline-makers from today:
Adam Hadwin (T2):Â I must give credit where credit is due because I am a man of honor and not a scumbag like Cam Young. I honestly believed Hadwin was going to have an abysmal outing due to his track record when he deals with an ounce of pressure. He didn't play an impressive round by any means, but he made a sick eagle on 5 and played a pretty clean round for the most part. Hadwin has no shot of winning this thing, so unless he goes +7 tomorrow, he had a good tournament and represented Canada well.
Scottie Scheffler (1):Â I honestly don't see anyone but Scottie winning this thing. He started hot and then had a brutal triple bogey on 9, giving the field a chance to close the gap. Just like Mito Pereira in the 2022 PGA Championship, the field choked hard to capitalize on the opportunity. Now Scottie finds himself up four strokes going into Sunday. Unless something tragic happens, this tournament has Scottie Scheffler all over it.
Collin Morikawa (T2):Â On a day like today, where everyone was struggling worse than Patrick Reed with staying true to his diet, Collin posted a clean card. Firing a 68 and gaining momentum going into tomorrow, Collin seemed relaxed and was hitting putts purely. If anyone has a shot at taking this from Scottie, it's Morikawa.
Our Current Picks:
Viktor Hovland (-1): If I wasn't in a good mood and a fan of Viktor Hovland's antics both on and off the course, I would rip him apart like I did Cam Young. Maybe the most brutal back nine I've seen yet, bogeying 5 straight holes to help execute a brutal round of 77 (+5). Viktor is out of the picture going into tomorrow and honestly stands no chance at winning this thing, much like the rest of the field.
Tom Kim (+7): Speaking of horrific golf, my picks seem to be competing with each other on who could let me down the worst. Tom Kim has looked great these past two weeks, and then yesterday he played miserable, and today the fucking guy shoots +6 and played even worse. It was honestly impressive how bad this chode-like figure of a man performed today. You've been a real disgrace to all the Toms out there.
Ludvig Aberg (-4): Once again, just a normal round with nothing to write home about. Ludvig has been very boring to watch, and it's tough to root for. Watching him play is like enduring Swedish foreplay—endlessly polite and painfully uneventful. Hopefully, he picks it up tomorrow and can make more than two birdies to spice things up and make a potential push.
Akshay Bhatia (EVEN): Akshay started hot with two birdies, and he looked like a promising contender. Then the bogeys started raining down like cash from Jordan Belfort to his blow dealer—nonstop and can't get enough it. Akshay can still place T-5, but we would need a near-perfect day for this to happen, a day as perfect as going on a flawless casino run—unlikely, but we hope.
Tomorrow's Picks
Now, the juicy part—our picks for tomorrow’s action:
Value Pick
It is a shame, but it appears Vegas has stripped this tournament of any and all value. It is as clear to Vegas as it is to everyone else that it is Scheffler's tournament to lose and for that, the value is as miniscule as the number of women who want to be with you. However, for the degenerates out there who are addicted to the rush of burning money and donating to your favorite sportsbook, it is lucky for you that I am similar to you and you're not alone. I carry the same disease as you, and for that reason, you have come to the right place to tickle your itch, you sick fuck. As I stated above, Morikawa is the only one who can take this from Scottie, so bet Morikawa if you want to just feel something tomorrow when you're being a lazy piece of shit on your couch watching golf and doing nothing at 11-1 odds
Join us next week for more thrilling updates and insights for the US Open at the legendary Pinehurst Country Club. Get ready for an electrifying Sunday showdown—keep your bets sharp, your drinks colder than your ex's heart, and your hopes sky-high! And hey, even if your picks flop, at least you’re not as big of a loser as Cam Young. Cheers to that!
