The 152nd Open Championship: Picks and Predictions

What a week it is for golf! We've reached the final major of the year, and I'm more excited for this tournament than I was when I saw a vagina for the first time. This weekend promises to be excellent for golf fanatics, casual fans, and degenerate gamblers looking for their next fix.

The 152nd Open Championship is being held at the prestigious Royal Troon Golf Club in Scotland, the home of golf. To avoid boring you, I'm diving right into the picks for our segments because this is a special week, and I have some borderline special picks. If You Know, You Know (IYKYK).

"Going Low" Picks

Jon Rahm

My first pick to go low and hoist the Claret Jug is the lunatic from Spain, Jon Rahm. I don't know if Jon is a big soccer fan, but I know he's a fan of the bottle. If there's any reason to drink, Jon would take advantage. While you might think that's a bad thing, it might keep him stable during the week in preparation for the weekend. With odds at 24-1, it makes me think that Vegas is off the bottle too. Let's not forget Rahm's ball-striking and clutch putting. If he gets hot and posts a low score on Thursday or Friday, watch out because he has the ability to run away with it.

Bryson DeChambeau

Next, give me Bryson, the king of overthinking. All jokes aside, Bryson understands the game of golf at a level that most people don't. With a difficult course and a challenging field, Bryson's skills beyond the golf swing could be a major benefit. Not to mention his major form this season. At 17-1, I'll take Bryson to win The 152nd Open alongside his US Open victory.

"He Is Him" Picks

In this segment, we look at the groupings and pick the winners of each group in a parlay with great value odds.

For the parlay, we are taking:

  • Rory McIlroy over Max Homa & Tyrrell Hatton

  • Min Woo Lee over Ryo Hisatsune & Abraham Ancer

  • Sungjae Im over Justin Thomas & Matthew Southgate

Quick explanation: Rory loves UK-style golf and is vastly better than both Homa and Hatton. Ancer has fallen off the map, and I couldn't tell you who Hisatsune is. Justin Thomas showed glimpses of greatness but quickly proved it was a fluke, and Southgate is plain garbage compared to Sungjae. Bet it at +845 and rake in some cash with me.

The 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon promises a thrilling weekend of golf. With Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau as our top picks to win and a strategic "He Is Him" parlay, we're set for some exciting action. Keep an eye out for our next segments, and let's make some money together!
