Buckle up football fans, Week 3 of the 2024 NFL season did not disappoint. From shocking upsets to dominant performances, here's your rundown of all the action.
1.) Patriots 3 - Jets 24
The Jets dominated the Patriots with a stifling defense on Thursday Night Football. Breece Hall led the charge with over 100 scrimmage yards, while Aaron Rodgers controlled the pace. The Patriots’ offense struggled all game, scoring only a field goal.
2.) Giants 21 - Browns 15
New York pulled off a gritty win over Cleveland, holding Deshaun Watson in check. Devin singletary delivered big runs, Daniel Jones played a rather clean game, and the Giants' defense made key plays in the red zone to seal the victory.
3.) Eagles 15 - Saints 12
A defensive battle saw Jalen Hurts lead a clutch drive late to edge out New Orleans. The Saints' offense couldn't capitalize in the red zone, and Saquon's stout 4th quarter 2 Touchdown performance made all the difference for Philly to walk out with a W.
4.) Texans 7 - Vikings 34
The Vikings dismantled the Texans behind an impressive day from Sam Darnold, who threw for four touchdowns. Justin Jefferson, and Aaron Jones were unstoppable, and Minnesota’s defense kept C.J. Stroud off balance throughout. Great defensive scheme by Flores once again.
5.) Broncos 26 - Buccaneers 7
Denver had their way with Tampa Bay, as Bo Nix bounced back by not turning the ball over and running for a Touchdown. The Buccaneers’ offense looked lethargic, unable to get anything going against a stingy Broncos’ defense.
6.) Packers 30 - Titans 14
The Packers rode the legs of Malik Willis and a dominant defense to a comfortable victory. Green Bay stifled Will Levis by sacking him 8 times and picking him off twice, while Malik managed the game effectively. Easy win for the Packers.
7.) Bears 16 - Colts 21
The Colts outlasted Chicago in a gritty game. Caleb Williams threw for over 300 yards but still did not look good. He had 2 key turnovers that cost them the game. Indy was able to capitalize on field position and walk out of Lucas Oil with a win.
8.) Chargers 10 - Steelers 20
Justin Fields led Pittsburgh to victory with a solid, mistake-free performance. The Steelers’ defense stifled Justin Herbert holding him to just 125 yards in the air. Pittsburgh's defence looks outstanding and Fields is getting better each game.
9.) Dolphins 3 - Seahawks 24
Miami had no answers for Seattle’s relentless defense. Geno Smith picked apart the Dolphins secondary, while Miami couldn't do anything offensively, it is time to sell the team. Sorry dolphins fans.
10.) Panthers 36 - Raiders 22
The red rocket Andy Dalton exploded for four touchdowns as the Panthers overwhelmed Las Vegas. The Raiders’ defense had no answer for Carolina's fast-paced offense, and Dalton looked every bit like the franchise QB he once was.
11.) 49ers 24 - Rams 27
In a wild NFC West battle, the Rams edged out the 49ers. Matthew Stafford’s late drive set up a game-winning field goal, while San Francisco couldn't put the Rams away when they had a double digit lead. 49ers without Deebo and CMC = loss after loss.
12.) Lions 20 - Cardinals 13
Detroit’s defense played lights out, holding the Cardinals to just one touchdown. Jared Goff managed the game well, with Amon-Ra St. Brown making key catches to lead the Lions to victory. David Montgomery had over 100 yards rushing and the lions ground attack looked alive.
13.) Ravens 28 - Cowboys 25
The Ravens squeaked past Dallas in a thriller. Lamar Jackson’s & Derrick Henry's rushing ability kept the Cowboys' defense guessing, and Baltimore's defense came up clutch with a fourth-quarter stop. Dallas had no answers for the Baltimore run game.
14.) Chiefs 22 - Falcons 17
Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City to a gritty win, tossing two touchdowns. The Falcons fought hard but couldn’t slow down Rashee Rice, whose 110-yard day was the difference.
15.) Jaguars 10 - Bills 47
Buffalo obliterated Jacksonville, with Josh Allen lighting up the scoreboard. The Bills' offense was unstoppable, everyone played amazing on the offensive side of the ball absolutely torching the Jaguars’.
16.) Commanders 38 - Bengals 33
In a back-and-forth affair, Washington outlasted Cincinnati behind Jayden Daniels three touchdowns. Joe Burrow threw for over 300 yards, but a late fumble sealed the Bengals’ fate. Washington looks good and the Bengals are a struggling franchise right now.
